Ryan’s Miracle Watch 1/31/12

Today is Jacob’s 15th birthday! Wow! Time really flies, doesn’t it? Tradition calls for taking the boys to a restaurant of their choice the night of their birthday’s. Tonight, it’s off to the Cheesecake Factory. Fortunately for us, both Ryan and Jacob have good taste…Happy Birthday Jacob!! What a difference a shower makes. Ryan looks so [...]

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 1/29/12

It looks like Ryan has beaten this latest round of pneumonia, and we should be returning to George Mark either tomorrow or Tuesday. How nice it will be to get back there, although I must say Kaiser has been very accommodating and much improved since the last time we were there. The doctors and nurses [...]

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 1/28/12

“Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot”. I’ve always liked this song by Joni Mitchell (recently covered by Counting Crows). The melody is nice and I particularly like the message; especially in light of recent events surrounding my life. Ryan’s Miracle Watch 1/27/12

Ryan looked a lot better today. He’s still not saturating up to the level he needs to, but he’s getting there. Today, the doctors prescribed some new meds to help clear his lungs, as well as added a different type of equipment to assist with the same. Please pray [...]

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 1/24/12

98.2F! YAY!!!!! Finally a normal temp. Ryan’s swelling has also gone down quite a bit. He looks so much better, but still has a way to go. All in the Good Lord’s time… So, I’m sitting in his room looking out at the Oakland hills. It’s a grey day…looks like it’ll rain at some point. [...]

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 1/23/12

Ryan had a lot of activity today. First, when I got to Kaiser, someone had switched him to a new room (a two bed room). They must have needed the isolation room he was in for someone that needed to be in isolation. He is now sharing a room with another boy named Julian. Julian is 15. [...]

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 1/22/12

Ryan finally got washed up this morning (I bet he hated that) and looked all the better for it. His hair was combed nicely and he just looked like his handsome self again. I need to retrieve his electric shaver from George Mark and give him a shave, though. The results from the tests came [...]
