Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/15/12
School must be out, because Ryan had several more visitors today. It’s great to see so many of Ryan’s friends continuing to care about him. Theirs is a genuine love for someone who reflects God’s love so generously. We should all be so fortunate to have friends like his. I know of one friend we’ve got that unlike any other…
What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he’ll take and shield thee;
thou wilt find a solace there.

I read about Ryan’s accident and struggle to recover on cnn.com today. I am saying prayers for a miraculous recovery for Ryan and for strength for your family. I had read about zolpidem used for coma patients on another site but didn’t read that it had been tried on Ryan. Anyway, I hope you find the treatment needed to help him recover.

I don’t know your family but it is my deepest prayer that Ryan awaken soon. I can’t imagine the long hard road you have all been on. I pray for the joyous day to come when he awakens from this state and can begin to work his way back to where he left off.
Blessed be.
Edith
Please Read to Ryan:
Dear Ryan,
You don’t know me but I have just found out about your amazing story on national media. My name is Edith Hernandez and I am engaged soon to be married. For many months I have been afraid of having children once I marry. While I feel inadequate as a future parent your story has inspired me to believe that God will provide for the willing heart.
Ryan, nobody but God knows when you will be getting up from this bed, but I have faith in Jesus that that you will soon. Don’t dispair Ryan, God’s plans and timing are amazing even when we don’t understand them. I thank you for sharing your story with the world and I promise to keep you and your family in my prayers. I thank you for calling me closer to God as it sbecause of you that tonight I will engage in more prayers. Ryan, your life is a miracle and because of you miracles are happening and people are getting closer to God–essentially people are being saved.
Finally, may God protect you and may Mother Mary intercede on your behalf before her Son Jesus so that you may soon be phsyically able to get up from your bed. God bless my little brother in Christ.

Keep talking to him and doing what your doing…He can hear you and knows the all the things you do to keep him well. After my 2nd Heart Surgery I was still on life support and when awake (briefly) but I was fully aware of my surroundings/thinking and heard everything everyone was saying to each other. I couldn’t communicate back because of the tube/trace. I wish you well Ryan and Family <3

Check the use of ambien in these cases….
Hollister Mom
@Ryan’s Mom, I have a 28 year old son born w/cerebral palsy. I know your love for your boy. As a practicing Catholic, I wish to leave you with a part of the Mass that we say. “Peace be with you!” I say again, Peace!

Hi Bret and Janine,,
I was wondering if you have tried Ambien for Ryan? I don’t know if it works for anoxic injuries, but some other patients with traumatic brain injury and thought to be in a PVS have had some results. I saw it first, years ago, on 60Minutes.

Bret, I read Ryans story today on CNN.com. I am the father of 16 and 14 yr old sons, the older Ryan, the younger Jacob. My Ryan wants to study to become an electrical engineer. I am so very saddened to learn of your sons situation. But the courage you, your wife and the circle of friends and supporters around you display brings such a positive aspect to this story. I’m not a very religious person in the sense that I don’t adhere to any discipline, but I do believe in prayer. I will pray for your sons recovery.

Greetings.
In the Name above all other Names, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, I prophesy that Ryan will not die in Jesus Name.
That same SPIRIT (Holy Spirit) that raised Jesus Christ from the dead will replace all the brain cells with new ones in Jesus Name.
I promise to be praying along until Jesus Heals Ryan and he gets up, talking, singing and praising God.
The Lord will sustain your peace, Amen.

Has anyone tried to communicate with Ryan using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI)?
Debbie Muller
I live on Hilton Head Island and have seen some amazing things done with Hyperbaric Therapy. I have also worked with brain damaged children, while living in Texas. There was a friend of mine who took her child for Hyperbaric Therapy and it was amazing how it helped him. He had CP, but I know , if I was in your place, I would try everything and anything for my son. I am an LPN. I will pray for your son and I know your family will be blessed.

I am so sorry to hear about your son’s accident. My 15 year old daughter was recently involved in a head on collision by a distracted driver. Although she is awake and alert, she has several challenges ahead of her physically. As a Mom, I can relate and sympathize with the time, effort and exhaustion that is put into the care of our children when they are compromised. My daughter is not yet home from the hospital and it may be months however never, ever give up hope! There is hope and there are miracles through Jesus Christ. There are days I dont know how I am going to make it through another day feeling so exhausted but I realize that my daughter is enduring so much more than I am. Jesus is there by our sides and will hold us up through each step of our journey. My prayers are with your son and your family . My wish is that your son pulls through . Christ gave him the gift of life and there is a reason why he is still with you. Hope exists. God bless you all.

My mother has been in a PVS since 1/29/12 following aspiration while in the hospital for a minor problem. We have felt compelled to continue to stand and pray for her healing. Like your son, the Lord has kept her from further injury/insult thus far. I will remember Ryan and your family in my prayers.

Noone teaches us to love our children, it just happens the moment they are born. Your love is something Ryan never doubts and it is what comforts him every moment.

Hello, I just read the story about Ryan. My heart goes out to your family. My son (Tyler) had surgery, and the surgeon hurt him horribly. Tyler is in a “vegetative state” too. The hospital has told so many lies to protect their business. When Tyler coded (no crash cart was available either), We were told he went without oxygen for 10 to 30 min. This happened in 2008. Like you, we have our son at home with us. Tyler is our life. We found out that the surgeon cut Tyler’s aorta and a gonadal artery. We were told there was a small bleed….he lost 4.1 L of blood. Later, they called a vascular surgeon, he cut Tyler’s vena cava and an illiac artery….so very much blood loss and transfusions….another surgeon came in and repaired all the damages, but told the surgeons Tyler needed a stent put in the aorta or it would rupture. No one shared this vital information. Tyler came out of all this (I don’t know how), but one month later while still at the hospital the aorta ruptured, and my son coded. They did not have a crash cart set up (he was in ICU). During his deposition, a top doctor in ICU made a comment that may be the hospital was trying to cut costs….they spent 59 million on remolding a lobby. We were so angry but now the anger is replace with love we found through our heavenly father. HE placed in my heart that Tyler will come back to us to never give up…BELIEVE! After 108 blood transfusions, infections, major bleeds, bedsore (18 cm x 19 cm), conjestive heart failure, trach/breathing machine, numerous medical incompetence (we were at the number one rated hospital in our state), dialysis, etc. My son just turned 25 years old today. I needed to read you son’s story because there are so many miracles in this world….hang in there mom and dad because God does not lie. If you know that your son will come out of this, that feeling you have was placed in your hearts by HIM….with Him ALL things are possible. I will pray for Ryan and your family…Glory be to God!

Is it possible to contact the CBN The 700 club and have them pray on TV for Ryan? So many people could be praying for Ryan at the same time as this program reaches so many people around the world. It would be a blessing If we all prayed for Ryan at the same time . You are doing the right thing believing in Ryans healing, miracles happy every day I have experienced many myself. The sacrafices you have made as so worth it!!!
Paula
Hello,
I happened to come across the CNN article about your wonderful family. I have been involved with another courageous and amazing family such as yours whose son was attacked in November, 2009 and left in a minimally conscious state. When you have a moment, please visit their website at http://www.ryansrally.org. Yes, his name is Ryan too : ) Sending you love and hope, never give up, our Ryan has made strides in the last 2 1/2 years when the doctors said there was no hope. There is always hope in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Blessings,
Paula
Diane
Hello,
My name is Diane and I read about your family’s story through the CNN article. I was heartbroken as I read it, and wanted to let you know that I will now pray for him and your family, that Christ will bring healing, peace and joy into your home and spirits. I believe in prayer & its power and know that God is able to do anything at all! One of my favorite scriptures is in Isaiah 26: 3 & 4 where it says “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord, for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.”
Blessings,
Diane (24 from CT)

What a handsome young man you have!!! I have a son Ryan’s age and cannot imagine what you are going through. I believe in the Lord and that Ryan is being carried by Him right now until he can carry himself again. Your family and Ryan’s friends are truly amazing and inspirational. I do believe that he can hear you and knows that you are there loving him every minute! Just know that I live in IL and will be praying for Ryan’s recovery every single day. God Bless!
