Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/18/12
Wow! I guess Ryan’s CNN story is drawing a lot of attention; as I have gotten hundreds of e-mails in the past couple of days referencing it. 99% of them have been from well-wishers, while the other 1% have been from, uh, non-well-wishers?. Oh well…gotta expect some spiritual warfare when so many good things are happening for the Kingdom’s sake as a result of God’s moving in such a powerful way. To God be the glory!
Ephesians 6:10-20 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
There is a battle going on that I am glad I don’t have to fight. My God fights it for me, while I love my enemies and pray for those who persecute me (Matt 5:44). All Glory to Him in the Highest!
Ryan would not want me to do it any other way…

Just wanted to pop on here and say I read the article on CNN and your family is in our prayers here in Kansas. Being a nurse I have cared for many patients who have had neurological damage due to oxygen deprivation, and I have seen some never recover and others miraculously bounce back. I truly believe that God is the healer and us nurses and doctors are here to care for them until the time comes. God bless you guys.

There are no coincidences in God. I teach your bible study on Monday nights and on 6/18/12 the bible study was based on Ephesians 6:10-20, and the armor of God. I just thought it was interesting that is also the topic of your blog/journal.

I know you are doing all you can for Ryan. Have you heard about Dr Ted Carrick? He is a Chiropractic Functional Neurologist (actually the founder of the specialty) who specializes in neurologic injuries such as your sons. We brought our TBI son home 6 years ago, after 2 years of hospitalization/rehabilitation. We had nursing assistance for a couple of years, but took on the full responsibility of his care 4 years ago. We have NEVER LOOKED BACK. Our son was 16 when an aneurism in his brain broke. He is slowly regaining reflexes, smiles at us, communicates with facial expression. He doesn’t move much independently or speak with a voice, but he is healthy and gaining ground every day. Blessings on you for doing the right thing for your son!

I stumbled upon your story on CNN this morning and am amazed at your courage and faith. I grew up in small mid-western towns as the daughter of a pastor and know first hand the impact that such an accident can have not only on the family, but on the entire community.
Ryan and your family will be in my prayers. I know that God’s will is working its way out even right now through the love and strength you are showing to the world. I’m sure Ryan’s nurses, therapists, friends, and neighbors see the light of Christ through you all. Miracles happen every day…sometimes in ways we don’t expect.

I read your story on CNN and I was really touched by how your family has pulled together to take care of Ryan. There is a place that may be able to help you help Ryan. It’s called the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. They have been teaching parents how to help their brain injured children recover for over 50 years. They have a book that explains their history its called What to do about your brain injured child by Glenn Doman the founder of the Institutes and they offer a one week course where they will design a program specifically for Ryan to help in his recovery.
