All was quiet at the Buchanan house today. Too quiet for my taste. Most of it is due to Jake being up in the mountains with his Grandparents, Aunt & Uncle and Cousins. And then of course, there’s Ryan; just a quiet guy, lying still in his bed. It’s pretty amazing what you can perceive when you are still and quiet, and I’m sure he is perceiving quite a bit…

Psalm 46:10   “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Exodus 14:14   The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.

And then, there’s this beautiful verse…

1 Peter 3:3-4   Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.

Ryan has a gentle and quiet spirit about him…and that is precious in not only God’s eyes, but mine as well…
